01

Narrow the search term

Consider your specialisation and experience level rather than one broad job title. Note the German or English title used in listings. Try two related titles separately and compare the results.

02

Check source and role together

Read the company website, listing date, location and responsibilities. A public email does not establish that a vacancy is still suitable. Use the requested application channel when the listing specifies one.

03

Prioritise by fit

Assess professional fit, language expectations and location together. Keep brief notes on each company and build a personal application list, starting with your strongest favorites.

04

Refine occupation and city searches

Note the German occupation title and related specialisations. Titles such as Elektriker and Elektroniker can describe different duties; similar wording alone is not enough. Check the workplace, transport and work arrangements. Compare company names and domains before treating branches as separate employers. Confirm the current application channel on the company website.
